IDS Expands uEye XCP Line with Innovative Event-Based Camera

IDS Imaging Development Systems GmbH has announced a groundbreaking addition to its renowned uEye XCP camera line. The new USB3 camera model, available in both monochrome and color versions, is set to enter series production shortly. It incorporates the advanced IMX636 event-based CMOS global shutter sensor, co-developed by Sony and Prophesee, which represents a significant leap in machine vision technology.

Unlike traditional cameras that capture a continuous stream of data, this innovative model captures only relevant changes in a scene at the pixel level, filtering out motionless data. This approach ensures efficiency by focusing solely on dynamic elements, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments.
